"I am intrigued by structures and patterns. My first jewels from the 1980s are the result of studying and applying ancient textile techniques in metal wire. These applications prove to be inexhaustible. I construct golden earrings from minuscule weaves and knitting work and also robust yet airy iron and copper necklaces.

Over the years I experiment with new techniques to allow for new forms of expression. Migrating to the Caribbean awakens my interest for nature in all its diversity. The amazing Caribbean underwater world and tropical plants and seeds leads to a whole new visual language in my jewelry, resulting in the Caribbean Collections. Coral patterns and the delicacy and decay in nature become my motive in new designs. Playing with silver repetitive flowerlike forms leads to jewels with an air of coral. This impression is even enhanced by matt white finish of the silver surface.
