Davide Ansoini likes to be able to transform the materials he works with. He mixes conventional materials such as gold with iron and precious stones, in pieces that resemble archaeological findings. His works convey the aura of something thousands of years old as he makes the surface of the metal look worn by time, yet the pieces have an extraordinarily contemporary feel to them at the same time. He leaves the surface of the metal rough and the stones are set so that they seem to have a casual nature in where they are placed. They almost disappear inside the metal and pass unnoticed, until you take a closer look.
